LOCATION & DESCRIPTION
Since opening in 1987, the Hotel Semiramis InterContinental has taken the leading position as Cairo's premier Hotel. It is situated on the banks of the Nile within walking distance of the major shopping and commercial center and only minutes from the Egyptian museum. The hotel has concluded recently the first and second phase of a major renovation program, which reinforced its reputation as one of the Middle East's leading hotels.
ACCOMMODATION
The hotel's
730 deluxe air-conditioned rooms include 79 suites, all with balconies, offering
spectacular views of the city or the river Nile. All rooms have bedside control
for radio and television, and international direct dial facilities, and news
coverage from CNN as well as other satellite programs. Club InterContinental
floors and Business Rooms for the business travelers' clientele are also
available, not to mention a Business Center that provides full secretarial
services including word processing, facsimile and scanning. The Center also
includes a
comprehensive business reference library, typewriter and PC rental, Mobile
telephones, Internet E-mail service and a courier service. The Business Center
provides additionally translators and interpreters, Arabic and English and
private offices and meeting rooms for daily rental.
Standard Room. There are 286 Standard rooms in the hotel (33.05
square metres each room), with king, queen or twin beds. The rooms have a small
table and two chairs. The view is either of the city or River Nile. Non-smoking,
handicapped and connecting rooms are available.
FACILITIES
The Cleopatra ballroom is the largest, and has the most extensive conference and meeting facilities in Egypt. It has been recently renovated and can accommodate up to 2000 guests and is equipped with state-of-the art audio-visual facilities including control booth with simultaneous translation and a permanent full size stage. In addition 3 smaller ballrooms Nefertiti, Babylon and Teeba accommodate functions & meeting of smaller sizes and 2 meeting rooms Isis & Osiris.The hotel's recreational facilities include a free-form, swimming pool, children's pool and a health club with a fully equipped gymnasium, sun deck, sauna, Turkish bath, aerobic classes, and massage room.
Underground parking for 250 cars and two floors of shopping are available. The Semiramis InterContinental has 24 hour room service, laundry and valet service.

The hotel has eleven restaurants
offering Middle Eastern/Thai, fine French dining and international cuisine, a
nightclub and a casino for evening entertainment. It's most recent additions to
the dining choices consist of a truly multi cultural variety. The Bird Cage
serves Thai specialties while Sabaya indulges us in the creative dishes of
Lebanon and for a taste of Italy, Pane Vino offers unrivaled flavors. For the
